Schatze Haus
More than twenty Beta Zeta members participated in our Schatze Haus Boutique project on January 24, 2022 and were busy cleaning, going through new donations, reorganizing racks, and setting up new displays. Some members even purchased goodies to take home. Della Zey worked on resetting a China display; Mollye Long, Jerrie Dooley, Donna Henke and Natalie Bowman worked on clothes racks, as did Janalee Hannemann, Andrea Hudson, and Jo Murphy. The Schatze Haus proceeds benefit The Grace Center.
Christmas Comes to Four Families
Beta Zeta “adopted” four families through the Needs Council this year and all of the supplies, food, and gifts were delivered on Dec. 11, 2021. “We collected everything on the list and had enough gift cards that we were able to give $125 to each of the four families,” Jo Murphy, project chair- man, said. “I am proud of how our chapter stepped up to serve families in our community. A huge thank you goes to Jerrie Dooley for her help with the collection of these items at her house.” Pictures from our project are showcased on the dkgtexas.org website. As members arrived at the Christmas party, Jo Murphy, Evelyn Weinheimer, and Joanne Davis loaded donations in a car in support of our four ‘adopted’ families. Michelle Willis, Leatrice Haley, and Della Zey wrapped additional gifts for the families. A delicious chili soup was served for the meal, proceeds benefiting the Beta Zeta scholarship fund. Amy O’Neil led the group in a Christmas carol game to wrap up the evening.
